Community-Based Policing is aimed at reclaiming peace and security by the community and responding to their safety and security concerns through a close policecommunity relation. It gives citizens greater confidence to openly discuss the safety and security issues that confront them in their day-to-day lives. Community Policy is therefore a philosophy that promotes and supports organizational strategies to address the causes of crime, to reduce the fear of crime and social disorder, through problemsolving tactics and community-police partnerships. It rests on the belief that law-abiding citizens in the community have a responsibility to participate in the police process. It also rests on the belief that solutions to today’s contemporary community problems demand freeing both community residents and law enforcement to explore creative ways to address neighborhood concerns beyond a narrow focus on individual crimes. It therefore allows police officers to police more effectively, find their policing Job safer and easier to do, are treated with greater respect and have better morale
“RPPL long-term ADR intervention has finally bore fruits—Communities from Garba Tulla in Isiolo-South and Garissa; Lagdera have handed over livestock stolen from their respective areas—This is clear indication that the two communcites wish to have a long lasting peace between them”
