"Towards a peaceful and cohesive society."

Implemetation of Sports for Peace Strategy.

Universally, sport has the power to change the world positively; it’s a fundamental right and a powerful tool to strengthen social ties and promote peace. Sports as an activity has the power of promoting team dynamics & joint effort towards achieving a desired goal, with the aim of changing attitudes, behavior and relationships of the participants, therefore Regional Pastoralists Peace Link embraces sports for peace approach as an important role in enhancing relationships between warring communities, and between security agencies and communities. Why sports as a tool for peace- building?

  • Sports is a universal language where people share excitement and energy, and work together in achieving a desired objective.
  • Sporting activities offer a safe & neutral space for participants to meet and interact across conflict divides.
  • Sports attract public attention, therefore providing a platform for communicating peace messages.
  • Sporting is culturally acceptable in all communities and for all genders as it promotes inclusiveness in peace building and advocacy.

“Isiolo Peace Link has implemented several projects in an impact oriented manner. A further strengthening of the organisation in its impact orientation and concerning project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation would give them the possibility to utilize their competencies in peace building more effectively and more in line with the project logic.”
